Ducks are Britain’s forgotten farm animal . Did you know that 84% of people have never considered how ducks are reared for meat?
Ducks are water birds and they have evolved to be in and around water, yet around 10 million ducks kept on UK farms never get to experience full body access to water and the situation is getting worse – the RSPCA believes this is unacceptable.

Staffordshire North Branch RSPCA is an independent charity created to find homes for animals that have suffered neglect, abuse, accident etc and normally brought to us by the RSPCA Inspectors. We helped 462 animals find new homes last year.

Pet Run
This years Pet Food Cavalcade was another resounding sucess. Thanks to Sid Rodgers organisation, hundreds of bikers took part, not only raising funds for our selves and Cats Protection (with whom we worked closely) but also collecting pet food for various animal charities. Our volunteers were out in force, with 12 helping out on the day by collecting money from the bikers, selling raffle tickets and helping at the auction. A good day all round

Microchipping Sucess
On Friday 7 September we held a microchipping day at Bucknall and it was a great success. We were open for 4 hours and during that time 40 cats/dogs were microchipped and people were also very generous with their donations. Apart from a short interval at lunch time, there was a steady stream of people with their animals. The weather was fine and our venue was well suited as those waiting could bask in the sunshine.
