Read about us in Staffordshire Life
Staffordshire Life Magazine visited our kennels during the snowy weather of February and in its centre pages of the March edition some of our animals are featured. Sadly there are a number of cats and dogs that have been with us for some time and their stories are told along with some excellent photographs.

Volunteers and Fund Raising
We are organising fund raising events for the rest of the year and we would like anyone who would be interested in fund raising for the rest of the year to come along and give their opinion and ideas for events we are arranging. We also need to know how many volunteers we will have for definite for each event. To do this we are having an open meeting this Thursday at the Dudson Centre, Hope Street, Hanley on Thursday 21 February from 7.00pm. It will be an informal meeting and we welcome your thoughts and ideas so ,please come along. If you cannot make the meeting but you definitely want to help at events in the future please let us know by contacting samrspcans@hotmail.co.uk
Tel 01782 788292 or Peter on peterrspcans@virginmedia.com and we will email the calendar to you afterwards and put you on our list.

Cat from Stoke found in Cardiff
Bobby, a tabby cat, was found as a stray in Cardiff last summer. He was taken in by a member of the public who looked after him. However he developed some polyps on his ears so was taken to the Vet who discovered a microchip and that he had been reported lost 4 years ago in Stoke. Although there were contact numbers they are no longer in operation. The full story can be found at http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-east-wales-21277057
This shows the value of microchipping but also to keep the register up to date. Although this was not an RSPCA cat, by having your pet microchipped and any change in contact details kept up to date, a pet can be reunited with its owner, even after 4 years.
Fortunately Bobby is well looked after and although his new owner will return him, he is at least assured of a good home if the original owner is not found..
