Cat from Stoke found in Cardiff

Bobby, a tabby cat, was found as a stray in Cardiff last summer. He was taken in by a member of the public who looked after him. However he developed some polyps on his ears so was taken to the Vet who discovered a microchip and that he had been reported lost 4 years ago in Stoke. Although there were contact numbers they are no longer in operation. The full story can be found at http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-east-wales-21277057
This shows the value of microchipping but also to keep the register up to date. Although this was not an RSPCA cat, by having your pet microchipped and any change in contact details kept up to date, a pet can be reunited with its owner, even after 4 years.
Fortunately Bobby is well looked after and although his new owner will return him, he is at least assured of a good home if the original owner is not found..
